ŠKODA Auto’s facility to produce engines, axles and gearboxes is one of the most advanced production bases within the entire VW Group. Production was launched here in 2001. We produce modern three-cylinder 1.2 HTP and four-cylinder 1.2 TSI motors for ŠKODA, VW and Seat brand cars. Besides additional petrol and diesel motors, we also assemble MQ 200 modern concept gearboxes for the VW Group and ŠKODA Auto. These gearboxes are notable for their ability to offer a comfortable and quiet ride. Production launch of the new transmission MQ 100 for a small family car is scheduled for late 2010. In addition, we assemble front and rear axles for the Fabia, Roomster and Octavia as well as rear axles for the Superb at the facility.

ŠKODA has confirmed prices and specifications for the new Fabia Estate ahead of its debut in spring 2015. Available in three trim grades: S, SE and SE-L, the third-generation Fabia Estate is priced from just £12,460 and offers a significant specification boost over the outgoing model.
Milton Keynes, 8th December 2014 – Entry-level S models feature six airbags, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth, Stop/Start and electric front windows as standard, while SE models (from £13,905 OTR) add manual air-conditioning, alloy wheels, Front assist, Arkamys surround sound package and Bolero radio with telephone control, Mirror Link, USB and SD card connections. SE models also include a three-spoke leather steering wheel, height adjustable driver and passenger seat, Maxi-DOT trip computer and black roof rails. Range-topping Elegance models (from £14,755 OTR) add even more features including, 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control air-conditioning, Light assistant, cruise control and KESSY – keyless entry system.

In addition to its generous equipment levels, the new Fabia features a striking new look, sector-best practicality, greater efficiency and a host of Simply Clever innovations. Utilising advanced MQB platform architecture, the new Fabia Estate performs the impossible by being larger and stronger than its best-selling predecessor, yet tipping the scales at up to 65kg less. This significant reduction, along with the introduction of cleaner EU6-compliant engines makes the new Fabia up to 17 per cent more efficient.

The Fabia Estate’s low running costs and reduced CO2 outputs are certain to appeal to fleet buyers. BiK rates start from just 14% with seven of the 17-strong range qualifying for zero rate road tax. The 1.2 TSI 90PS engine is expected to be the most popular with UK buyers.

Bigger, better and more practical
Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September, the new Fabia Estate builds on the strengths of its predecessor. Its boot volume of 530 litres (with the seats up) makes it the most spacious in the sector, while its maximum load volume of 1,395 litres puts rivals in the sectors above to shame.

And it’s not just sheer volume that makes the new Fabia Estate such a practical proposition. The 960mm loading floor is now wider than in the previous model while the tailgate opens to 1,900 mm and is 1,028 mm wide. The loading sill is only 611mm high, making loading the car up easy. The passenger area is also wider (+21 mm) and longer (by +8mm), and although the car is now slightly lower, there’s more headroom for the driver and front seat passengers.

The Estate has been a key part of the Fabia range since 2000 and accounts for 25% of Fabia sales in the UK. More than 1.1 million examples have been sold worldwide, confirming its appeal with buyers looking to combine exceptional load space with a compact frame and affordable price.

Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for ŠKODA UK said: “The Fabia Estate has always represented terrific value for money and I’m delighted that we’re able to offer even more with the third-generation model. The Estate has always been key member of the Fabia family and I look forward to its arrival next year.”

At ŠKODA we want to be the most valued Fleet manufacturer in the UK. Ever. Now that may sound a little ambitious. But we're already on our way. And with our new SE Business range designed specifically to cater for business drivers, choosing your next company car with ŠKODA is a very sensible choice.

The new SE Business range includes our Octavia model which was recently crowned Best Estate Car at the Fleet News Awards 2014, the Superb, which was Highly Commended in the same category, and our recently revamped Yeti, winner of the Fleet News' Best Crossover 2014 award.

The Octavia, Superb and Yeti Outdoor SE Business models all boast low benefit-in-kind tax, which your budget demands and additional specification at the same price, or lower, than the equivalent SE trim.

It's crucial that you use the correct screen wash additive, especially in colder weather. This’ll help reduce the effects of freezing. Check the instructions on the bottle for concentration levels against predicted temperatures. We recommend you buy a ŠKODA solution to ensure it’s suitable for your car. Contact your local ŠKODA retailer for more information.

You can also buy a premix screen wash solution that’s already been diluted correctly. If you choose this option, make sure you always top up with the premix solution – don’t dilute it with water as this’ll reduce its effectiveness.

Remember that the washer system can still freeze, even if you have heated washer jets.

ŠKODA has enjoyed a fruitful time at 2014 Green Apple Awards with the Citigo collecting the award for Best Supermini. The frugal, low-emissions Czech city car pipped rivals to clinch the title in the majestic surroundings of the House of Commons in London.
Milton Keynes, 11th November 2014 –The Green Apple awards are run by the Green Organisation, an independent non-profit body that rewards environmental best practice. Judging was performed by members of the Midland Group of Motoring Writers, who singled out the Citigo for its quality, economy and value.

One Green Apple Awards judge said: "The ŠKODA Citigo offers a great drive, is thoroughly practical and has low fuel consumption." Another added: "The Citigo is the perfect demonstration of how a car can be economical, inexpensive, beautifully built and a pleasure to drive."

Low running costs and minimal emissions have been at the core of the Citigo's appeal since its launch in 2012. Offered with a choice of two highly economical engines, CO2 outputs start at just 95g/km, while fuel economy of 68.9mpg is possible on the combined cycle. Prices for the Citigo range start from just £8,210.

The Citigo's award marks the fourth year in a row that ŠKODA has triumphed at the Green Apple Awards. The judging panel awarded top marks to the Yeti in 2011, 2012 and 2013, and has consistently praised ŠKODA's passion for building affordable, low emissions cars.

Commenting on the Citigo's latest award, Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for ŠKODA UK said: "We're delighted to accept this award for the Citigo. Low running costs and reduced emissions are key factors in the development of all ŠKODA products, and this award for the Citigo recognises the advances we're making in both areas."

The Green Apple Award is the latest in a long line of prestigious titles won by the Citigo. In 2012 it was awarded Car of the Year by Auto Express, along with the 2012 What Car? Green Award and the 2013 Driver Power Best Small Car title.
